Amma & Atta, the Ayurveda-inspired food and drinks counter that opened at Market Halls Canary Wharf earlier this month, will serve free ashwagandha lattes to its first 100 customers on Tuesday 20th October 2026 to mark the opening. The giveaway starts at 7.30am and ends once the drinks run out, and customers must say the code word AMMA when ordering.

The latte combines ashwagandha, turmeric, cinnamon, a small amount of jaggery and oat milk. Ashwagandha is a herb traditionally used in Ayurveda, the system of medicine that originated in India, where it is associated with stress management and resilience. It has since become a common ingredient in wellness-focused drinks and supplements.

Amma & Atta was founded by Simone Hundle, a former wealth manager. She says she wants to encourage people to rethink how they respond to the demands of everyday life by building small, deliberate pauses into the working day. “We’re often so caught up in what the day demands of us that we forget to check in with ourselves. Sometimes we just need a moment to pause and ask what would help us feel more like ourselves,” she says. “That’s what we want Amma & Atta to offer: simple rituals that meet you where you are.”

Alongside botanical drinks, the menu features Indian-inspired dishes including kitchari, traditionally made with rice and lentils, as well as granola, porridge, spelt paratha rolls and chaat-inspired bowls. The brand draws on Ayurvedic principles and Indian home cooking. The selection is organised around three categories, each linked to a different state of mind. RISE is intended to energise, ALIGN to help customers find balance and RETURN to help them feel grounded. Customers are invited to consider how they feel and choose food or drink from the corresponding category.

The free latte offer is available only on 20th October and only to the first 100 customers who give the code word. On other days, Amma & Atta is open from 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
