Asos Marketplace: vintage fashion heaven

Asos Marketplace: vintage fashion heaven

If vintage extremities are all the rage, then Asos Marketplace is the virtual thrift shop for you. With nearly 600 boutiques on there, all being so individual, they may as well have an entirely different website for each; you’re sure to find something that takes your tie-died fancy.

The website started as a subsection from the well-known brand ASOS, but now with their own website, they can continually grow into the best go-to for your wardrobes favourite out-there items. Not only do they have online boutiques, but there are also individual sellers offering an assortment of things, from vintage Levi’s and handmade jewellery, to maybe even a vintage designer bag or two. For incredibly reasonable prices also, is there anything not to love about this?

A specific boutique, Gypsy Giggles, offers “Hand-made and hand-painted unique clothing”. Owned by Heba, she began “hand-making everything”. Then, armed with a sewing machine and a few wholesale tops, her collection began. All of her pieces are “based on hand-finishing, whether it’s making something from scratch or customising a factory made piece”. Even the painting is done by hand by making stencils to put on the garment. With all of this in mind, you can be sure that any item you get will be individual. Despite starting small, her brand gradually grew, and currently with 24 beautiful items, it would be difficult to say no to one of her distinctive designs.

There is an array of other brands up on Asos Marketplace all showcasing beautifully crafted pieces, mostly by hand, but all with individuality in mind. It would be regrettable not to check out the wonders that it beholds…
