Musical Con is returning to ExCeL London this October for its fifth anniversary, with a weekend of performances, reunions, workshops and masterclasses bringing together names from the West End and Broadway.

Among the biggest draws is a 30th anniversary celebration of Rent, reuniting original Broadway stars Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal. The actors, who originated the roles of Mark Cohen and Roger Davis, will perform together on the Main Stage and look back at three decades of Jonathan Larson’s musical.

Beetlejuice will also get its own spotlight, with West End cast members David Hunter, Chelsea Halfpenny, Hannah Norberg and Tom Xander joined by Kerry Butler, who originated Barbara Maitland on Broadway. Butler will appear separately to discuss her Broadway career, while Olivier Award winner Layton Williams returns following his recent run in Titanique on Broadway.

Elsewhere, fans can catch a Death Note The Musical spotlight, a Starlight Express cast reunion and previews of new shows including Mona Loser, Ceilidh and FAME!. The Cosplay Competition, Star of Musical Con and Show Off Quiz also return.

For those who would rather get involved, the weekend includes a vocal masterclass with former Elphaba Nikki Bentley and dance workshops led by Heathers choreographer Gary Lloyd, alongside panels exploring how new musicals are developed.

With everything from Broadway reunions to the chance to try a West End workshop, the two-day programme offers musical theatre fans plenty beyond simply watching performances from the audience.
