Daks catwalk show report A/W 2014 for LFW
The Daks show was truly an experience. Before the runway show commenced, a short fashion film was aired to showcase the 120th anniversary of the brand. The film showcased a singing duet, and imagery of different women wearing the timeless collection.
As the first model stepped onto the runway, the audience gasped in awe of the tall bearskin hat she was wearing. We instantly knew that aspects of the collection were military-inspired, and our attention was captivated immediately.
Gloves were prominent in most looks; the statement accessory was a long-sleeved pair, which had embossed leather detailing. Militant jackets were then showcased in leather. Interesting textures were flowing with a dress made out of patchwork-checkered materials.
The final dress was the perfect way to end the collection: a tailored top half and cake skirt. The model elegantly glistened down the catwalk with all eyes on her, as she closed the show.
