Charlotte Olympia’s S/S 2014 collection is nautical and nice
The latest range of footwear available from the British accessories designer is a summery, oceanic-themed selection of heels, flats and clutches.
It must be so much fun being part of the creative team at Charlotte Olympia, quite possibly one of the most eclectic and exciting shoe companies around. You will never see a black stiletto as part of the Charlotte Olympia collection – unless it is adorned with some sort of quirky insignia.
Her spring/summer 2014 range of footwear and bags is comically titled Overboard as it plays off the theme of the sea. As always in the world of Charlotte Olympia, they pick a concept and well and truly run with it, from fish scale wedges to pineapple platforms and embellished anchor sandals, this latest collection is not to be missed.
They always keep the classics as part of the collection; the Pandora clutch, dolly platform and kitty slipper, but they are spiced up to fit in with whatever concept they are playing with. The Pandora clutch includes sparkling purse inserts, reminiscent of the glittering ocean, with a starfish gold clasp. The dolly platform is available in vivid shades of hot pink, sunshine yellow and apple green with a funky gold skull embellishment; they have even nicknamed it “The Dolly Roger”. Finally, the kitty flats are given a sunny make-over with cute sunglasses and neon piping.
Of course, there are new additions to the range which still remain with the nautical concept: a pair of gold and silver sequinned wedges that look rather fish-scale-like are party-ready and perfect for the soon to be sunny days; a pair of fabulously decorated nude heeled sandals adorned with shimmering shells in the shape of an anchor; and another Pandora box clutch with a cute lobster design.
For this particular collection, prices start at £425 and go up to £1,285. Even if it is just a dream to own a pair of designer Charlotte Olympia heels it is worth checking out the website so you can see what crazy idea she’ll come up with next!
