The most stylish brides of 2014

The most stylish brides of 2014

The past year has showered us with a plethora of celebrity brides and 2015 is set to bring even more. As we stumble upon the beginning of a new and exciting year, The Upcoming has decided to look back and reflect on some of the most stylish brides of 2014. They’ve certainly got all of us eager to tie the knot ASAP (only so we can wear some of these stunning outfits of course!)

Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles arrived at her ceremony on a white bicycle decorated with cream roses and wearing an ivory-toned jumpsuit by Stephane Rolland. She later changed into an ivory, floor-length gown with cape designed by Humberto Leon for Kenzo, showing off her super modern style.

Angelina Jolie

In August, Angelina Jolie wed Brad Pitt at their French estate with just a handful of family and friends. Having artwork by their six children embroidered on to the veil and back of her Atelier Versace gown was indeed a bold move. Love it or hate it, it was unique and sentimental to the couple on their special day.

Amal Alamuddin

OK, so let’s be honest, she could’ve worn a bin bag walking down the aisle and we still would have died to be her. Who wouldn’t want to marry George Clooney? At their private, star-studded ceremony in Venice, Amal Alamuddin wore a custom-made Oscar de la Renta gown formed of Chantilly lace, embroidered with diamantés and pearls and featuring a circular train, stunning!

Poppy Delevingne

Poppy Delevingne tied the knot with James Cook in May and called upon Karl Lagerfeld for her beautiful, heavily embellished haute couture gown. The fashionable and functional dress featured a removable skirt/train, which meant was able to party the night away. The couple also went on to have a colourful affair in Morocco with dozens of friends, for which she had a second dress made by Peter Dundas of Italian fashion house Pucci.

Olivia Palermo

In late June, style icon Olivia Palermo wed her German model boyfriend Johannes Huebl. Set in New York, the blushing bride wore a quirky but elegant combination of shorts with a full tulle overlay and a simple cashmere jumper by Carolina Herrera, along with a fabulous pair of deep blue Manolo Blahnik shoes. Palermo kept her chic look relaxed, sporting a cute ponytail and natural make-up.
