Costello Tagliapietra catwalk show report A/W 2015 for NYFW
We don’t know if it was New York gloomy winter weather this afternoon of February 12th combined with wet snow and wind, but Costello Tagliapietra’s Fall collection looked incredibly warm and cozy, with building up layers of colored grids and plaid details. Slowly unpeeling layers of winter jackets, bloggers, editors and young designers were enjoying dynamic and powerful presentation.
New York-based fashion brand Costello Tagliapietra brought us very soft and feminine collection of ponchos, plaid pants, sweaters and blouses in pallets of dark green, blue, burgundy and some yellow picking through. Plaid details included in almost each model made pieces look comfortable and stylish office attire. The collection colors were meant to be a reflection of earthy motives: water and woods and sun picking through clouded sky. Powerful and sensual music and models in occasionally silky flowing dresses set the mood for practical elegance.
Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra are two designers who stand behind the brand. They met 11 years ago and showed their first collection in 2005. The designers say that idea behind their clothing is to reflect their own fashion choices in a feminine but wearable pragmatic way and add some but not eliminating their masculinity. Not strangers to plaid, work blouses and chunky sweaters themselves, the designers stylishly presented their collection offering elegant yet easy choices perfect for office clothes.
