Officially formed in 2009, Cattle and Cane are a family led indie/folk band making themselves known for their soaring vocals and intricately picked acoustics. Comprised of singer-songwriter Joseph Hammill and the three other Hammills – his sister Helen (vocals), brothers Fran (guitar) and Vin (bass) – the only non-Hamill of the group is family friend Tom Chapman (drums and guitar).

The band have been building their reputation via radio and live shows across the UK, including an appearance at Hyde Park, and are currently on tour with the help of Vauxhall Vivaro on Tour, which provides them with a free Vivaro minibus to get around.

We spoke to the delightful Joseph and Helen after they arrived in London for their show at Islington Assembly Hall.
