Four quick tips to help get glowing skin

Water

It may seem like an obvious tip, but water is the key to wanting lighter skin as it allows the nutrients in your body to properly circulate. It is recommended that we drink at least eight glasses of water per day. Regular consumption of water can improve the tone and texture of your skin as it works flush toxins out the body. You can even add some flavour to your water with an infusion of lemon slices or mint leaves.

Skin-lightening creams 

Most skin lightening creams help reduce signs of hyperpigmentation, which is when areas on the skin are darker in colour than the surrounding skin. They can also be used to fade the appearance of scars, freckles or age spots. If you decide to use these types of creams, it’s best to look for one that contains no chemicals.

Exfoliate

Investing in an exfoliator is the perfect way to revive dull skin and reveal a radiant glow. Jeannette Graf, assistant clinical professor of dermatology, stated: “Your complexion looks radiant when it’s smooth enough to reflect light.” Exfoliating involves scrubbing away dry, dead skin cells that have appeared on the face as it aims to improve the texture and tone of your skin. Be careful not to scrub too harshly as this could damage the skin. It is worth researching into what type of exfoliator will work best for your skin and invest in the ones that don’t contain any abrasive chemicals.

Diet

Switching up your diet is another way to obtain a glowing complexion. By adding the right foods into our day-to-day life, the nutrients and minerals can work within our skin, leaving a nourishing glow. This includes protein rich foods such as eggs, fish and lean meats, as well as foods that contain a high volume of vitamin C. Citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges are known for their abilities to help brighten your skin and fade any dark spots or discolouration marks. If you’re feeling creative, you can blend together a smoothie, packed with all your favourite vitamin C fruit and veg.
