Beautyblender launches foundation in 32 shades

Beautyblender launches foundation in 32 shades

When Rea Ann Silva created the beauty bender 11 years ago, the make-up world was thrown in to a frenzy. How had we survived so long without this edge-less, miracle sponge and would our make-up routine ever be the same again? The award winning tool has become a must have in many women’s make-up bags and now the company have something new to offer us. Foundation! Will this too become a mainstay in your cosmetic collection? Let’s take a look at what is has to offer…

Is it something for everyone?

Available in 32 different shades, Beautyblender has stated that its foundations are made for users of every skin tone. Unfortunately it seems the product creators have chosen to concentrate mainly on mid-light skin tones. According to a huge number of users, Beautyblender has failed to cater to those with a darker skin tone. These shades are extremely limited and, unlike the medium shades, there is little to no gradient between each number.

The product

Hopefully in time Beautyblender will introduce a greater number of darker shades as aside from this issue the product offers really fantastic coverage. It cleverly enhances your skin’s gorgeous natural qualities without overpowering or masking, providing an even, dewy looking base. You also only need a very small amount of product to cover the entire face.

The packaging

We have to say, we think the packaging for this foundation is a stroke of pure genius. Many of us like to blend our foundation with other shades, creams or oils and often end up doing so on the back of our hand, wasting a huge amount of product. No more. This fabulous bottle has been designed with an innovative reservoir which catches the foundation as you pump allowing you to add in any other products you wish. Mix together happily without any mess, product wastage or uneven blending.

We don’t love

It’s a shame this foundation has a lack of darker shades and the colours do jump in gradient. More options for those with deeper skin tones would improve the usability and inclusive nature of the product.

We do love

We love that this product is vegan and cruelty free so we can use it without worry. We also adore the clever packaging and lightweight formula!
