Acclaimed Copenhagen chef Jamie Lee to host pop-up Nordic day at London’s Ekte

Renowned Kødbyens Fiskebar chef Jamie Lee is to host a pop-up lunch and dinner on 18th January 2020 at Ekte Nordic Kitchen in the Bloomberg Arcade. The culinary team – which includes Fiskebar founder Anders Selmer and head pastry chef Søren Scheel – will be serving up an exclusive Nordic multi-course tasting menu at both lunch (£50 for four courses) and dinner (£65 for five courses), including coffee and petit fours, with a paired drinks option (+£30 at lunch; +£35 at dinner).

Guests will be able to enjoy several signature dishes from the Copenhagen restaurant, such as brill with smoked mussel, seaweed, burnt onion and rye; squid with lemon verbena, kohlrabi and chicken wing; and salsify with citrus and hempseed. There will be some intriguing twists which incorporate local ingredients.

Kødbyens Fiskebar opened in the Danish capital in 2009, when it was immediately awarded a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide. The restaurant concentrates on fresh and sustainable fish, seafood and greens, “pure” wines and a wide range of contemporary cocktails. The raw Scandinavian fish and seafood bounty inform Lee’s distinctive seasonal menus.

The British-born joined the restaurant in 2011 and became head chef in 2013. Lee is thrilled to be back where it all began: “I’m really excited about cooking in London and going back to where my career started at a very young age,” says Jamie. “The food scene in London is amazing and I am grateful to Søren for letting me have the opportunity to bring my team and cook in this great city. Expect a day with fresh fish, pure wine and a lively energetic atmosphere.”
