A new premium cocktail and activity bar called Rocket Room is scheduled to open its doors in Leicester Square next month. The venue, which will combine a high-end drinks menu with a range of interactive games, aims to attract both local residents and visitors seeking a novel nightlife experience in the heart of the capital.

Rocket Room’s launch comes as part of a wider trend in the hospitality industry, where bars and restaurants are increasingly incorporating activities alongside traditional food and drink offerings. It will be located on the site of a former restaurant above Market Place Food Hall, with the opening scheduled for the end of April. Leicester Square has long been a focal point for London’s entertainment scene, and this latest addition reflects ongoing investment in the area’s offering. The emphasis on both quality cocktails and interactive activities is intended to appeal to a broad demographic, from young professionals to tourists.

The new watering hole will offer a selection of signature cocktails crafted by expert mixologists, as well as a menu of small plates. In addition, there will be a variety of games, including shuffleboard, table tennis, axe throwing, arcade machines and more. The management team says the aim is to create “a vibrant social space where guests can enjoy both exceptional drinks and engaging entertainment under one roof”.

Founder Mike Pearson explained: “We wanted to bring something fresh to Leicester Square, which is known for its theatres and nightlife but doesn’t have many venues where you can enjoy great drinks and a bit of friendly competition. Rocket Room is about bringing people together for memorable nights out, whether that’s after work, before a show or at the weekend.”

The official opening date is yet to be confirmed, but Rocket Room is expected to operate seven days a week, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
