Live music, lives, thrives and adapts during the second day of the free online festival Five4Five. With a killer line-up full of unique and passionate performances paired with continued support and donations to key workers and the NHS, this festival proves to be unifying as well as entertaining. Five4Five Fest establishes itself as an excellent festival and, despite being online, expertly captures the atmosphere of live performances that we are familiar with and no doubt all miss.

Featuring an eight-band line-up, with the infamous Rock band Enter Shikari as headliners, the second day of performances is an alternative music lover’s dream. It was a night of punk, thrash, alternative rock, emo, pop-punk and post-hardcore, in short: an event that had something for everyone. Despite being genres that thrive in live settings, usually culminating in the pit, each band was full of energy and worked to engage their online audience. With standout performances from Wargasm, Fatherson and Enter Shikari, the festival does not disappoint and brings fans high calibre performances from the comfort of their own home.

There is a sense of communal responsibility and togetherness formed during the festival that adds to its overall atmosphere. Five4Five Fest is dedicated to our workers on the frontline, with all donations going to NHS Charities. As such, there is a strong emphasis on showing the reality of lockdown as well as our collective appreciation. We witness short but touching stories, shout-outs for those still working and the bands regularly encourage donations and touch base with viewers.

Day two of Five4Five Fest was a roaring success, closing perfectly with Enter Shikari’s Anaesthetist. With incredible technical design and top-notch performances from all acts, it marks itself as an example of a first-class virtual festival.
