She Will: On the red carpet with the cast and director

Franco-British multi-media artist and film director, Charlotte Colbert, debuts her first feature, She Will collaborating with an all-star cast and seasoned visionaries to create an ethereal, psychological horror that reveals a world of dreams, delirium and re-surfacing trauma.

Accomplished actress Alice Krige takes on the role of Veronica Ghent who, after undergoing a double mastectomy, heads to a healing retreat in the Highlands accompanied by her kind nurse, Desi (Kota Eberhardt). When folkloric tales of witch burning circulate the eccentric sanctuary, they soon seep into Veronica’s dreams, creating an unexpected, otherworldly space for her to seek revenge for her buried ordeal. Supporting roles from British actor Malcolm McDowell lead the way for a #metoo reveal and Rupert Everett sprinkles moments of humour over this hugely vivid, gothic masterpiece.

Lead actress Alice Krige spoke to us at the London Film Festival premiere about her time spent filming in Scotland and what we can expect from her complex and layered role.

Malcolm McDowell told us about working with the director and preparing for his role. Also, he shared how he feels about Stanley Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange turning 50 and why he’s never re-watched it himself.

Director Colbert talked us through the premise of the film, working with horror aficionado Dargio Argento, her future plans and what it means to be part of a greater space for darker stories written, directed and performed by women.

She Will is released in select cinemas on 22nd July 2022.
