All Points East festival announces electrifying lineup for Victoria Park shows

All Points East Festival, the award-winning music event, is set to electrify East London’s Victoria Park once again with an impressive lineup of artists announced for Sunday 25th August 2024. The festival, which spans two weekends from 16-25 August, will feature special guests The Decemberists, Phoenix, Gossip, and Sleater-Kinney among others.

Headlining this eclectic mix of talent are The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie, co-headliners who will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their respective seminal albums Give Up and Transatlanticism. This year’s show marks a rare London appearance for The Postal Service, their first in over a decade, while Death Cab for Cutie’s frontman Benjamin Gibbard will perform with both bands on the night.

The festival’s lineup reflects a diverse range of genres, with The Decemberists, known for their narrative-driven indie-folk, and Phoenix, who rose to international acclaim with their album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, bringing their unique sounds to the stage. Gossip, fronted by the dynamic Beth Ditto, will deliver their brand of high-energy punk-pop, while Sleater-Kinney, a staple of feminist punk, continue to command respect following their recent release, Little Rope.

Indie veterans Yo La Tengo, Glasgow’s Teenage Fanclub, and the shoegaze-country hybrid Wednesday promise to cater to the alternative music aficionados, while London newcomers Soft Launch will introduce their synth-driven melodies to the festival audience.

In addition to the star-studded musical performances, All Points East offers free community midweek entertainment, including outdoor cinema and live music, contributing to the festival’s reputation as a cultural highlight in the city’s calendar. With more headliners and a full lineup still to be announced, the festival is shaping up to be an unmissable event for music fans.

Tickets for All Points East are now on sale, with options ranging from standard to VIP experiences. The festival says it is continuing to emphasise community involvement and sustainability, working closely with local charities and to ensure a positive impact on the surrounding area.
