Al Dente brings a slice of Rome to Angel in April 2024

Al Dente brings a slice of Rome to Angel in April 2024

Angel is set to welcome a taste of Rome with Al Dente’s latest outpost ready for opening in the first week of April 2024. Situated at 4a Upper Street, the establishment aims to deliver an authentic Italian dining experience, emphasizing the rich, culinary traditions of Rome, without the hefty price tag. The new venture by Al Dente marks the addition of a fourth eatery to its London portfolio, alongside a ghost kitchen, further cementing its reputation for serving fresh, high-quality pasta dishes daily.

The 70-square-metre venue invites diners to join for a gastronomic journey across the sunny Mediterranean country of Italy, with a special focus on classics hailing from the Eternal City, such as Carbonara, Amatriciana, and Cacio e Pepe. In celebration of the opening, Al Dente will introduce Gricia to its menu for a limited period. Known as the less esteemed sibling of Carbonara and the progenitor of Amatriciana, pasta alla Gricia is a testament to the simplicity and depth of Roman cuisine, crafted from guanciale, Pecorino Romano, black pepper, and pasta water.

Since its inception in 2018, Al Dente has been committed to sharing the authentic taste of Italian cuisine with Londoners. Founded by Filippo Giulio Gallenzi and Ivo Poklepovic, the brand has successfully navigated the city’s diverse landscape, offering a range of dining experiences from takeaway to upscale sit-down meals across its locations in Goodge Street, Monument, South Kensington, and a ghost kitchen in Hackney.

The new restaurant inaugurate in the northern fringes of the city remains faithful to the Al Dente’s core values of dedication to original ingredients, genuine flavours, generous portions at affordable prices and the recreation of an enticing Roman dining atmosphere.
