London’s Soho to host the inaugural World Dram Day

On April 25th, London’s Soho district will witness the inauguration of the first-ever World Dram Day, an event aimed at spirit enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. The celebration, hosted by Dram Bar in partnership with Master of Malt and Drinks By The Dram, is set to take place from 10.30 am to 7 pm at 7 Denmark St, London WC2H 8LZ. Admission is free, with tickets available via Eventbrite.

The day’s festivities are designed to encourage participants to drink different, aiming to break down the barriers to premium spirits and taste a variety of rare and unusual drams, including whiskies, mezcals, gins, vodkas, and rums. The event will feature a free drop-in whiskey consultancy and an Adults-Only Pick ‘N’ Mix, presenting luxury and unusual expressions at a fraction of the cost of a full-sized bottle. Noteworthy 30cl drams include the Yamazaki 18 Year Old Whisky, typically retailing for £850, and the Glenfarclas 30 Year Old Whisky, priced at £769.

Whisky expert Dave Worthington and rum guru Pete Holland will be on hand, offering free consultations to help visitors explore their palates and uncover new spirits and combinations they might not have previously considered. This initiative reflects World Dram Day’s objective to encourage drinkers to experiment with small quantities of various spirits without the commitment of purchasing a full bottle.

For those unable to attend the physical event, Master of Malt, an award-winning e-commerce platform, will celebrate World Dram Day with enticing offers. Between April 22nd and 26th, every order placed will include a free mystery dram, alongside the opportunity to discover rare jewels and discounts on tasting sets from Drinks By The Dram.

Dram Bar, the venue for the event, is a notable establishment located on Soho’s famed Denmark Street. Housed in a 17th-century Grade II Listed building, Dram spans three floors and features two bars, a whisky shop, an outdoor terrace, and a private pool room equipped with a ready-to-drink cocktail vending machine.
