Hamilton’s West End production at Victoria Palace Theatre introduces new cast from June 2024

The West End production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s celebrated musical Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre announces a cast change, set to take the stage from Monday 17^th June 2024. This transition comes as the show continues its successful run, with bookings now open until 29^th March 2025.

Stepping into the pivotal role of Alexander Hamilton is Alex Sawyer, previously the alternate for the character, showcasing a significant promotion within the production. Jay Perry, known for his versatility and previous stint in the musical in 2022, makes a notable return, this time embodying the complex character of Aaron Burr. The refreshed lineup includes Nathania Ong as Eliza Hamilton, Thomas Vernal as George Washington, along with Jordan Castle and Jordan Benjamin taking on the roles of Hercules Mulligan/James Madison and John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, respectively. Adam J Bernard is announced as the alternate for Alexander Hamilton, bringing his Olivier Award-winning talent to the production.

The ensemble will welcome new talents including Richard Appiah-Sarpong, Turrell Barrett-Wallace and Roxanne Couch, among others, ensuring a rich diversity and dynamism to the already stellar cast. Meanwhile, regulars such as Jordan Frazier as Angelica Schuyler and Simbi Akande as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds will continue to grace the stage, maintaining the high-calibre performances the show is renowned for.

For a brief period, Manaia Glassey-Ohlson will take on the role of Aaron Burr from the start of the new cast’s tenure until 13^th August, after which Jay Perry will resume the role. This casting not only introduces fresh faces to the audience but also promises to continue the legacy of the groundbreaking musical with renewed energy and interpretation.

The production team remains under the seasoned guidance of director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision by Alex Lacamoire, ensuring the show’s continued success and acclaim.

In addition to the changes in London, a second national company of Hamilton is touring the UK and Ireland, with performances at the Bristol Hippodrome until 22^nd June 2024, indicating the unwavering popularity and demand for this musical phenomenon across the British Isles.

Hamilton, with its revolutionary tale told through a groundbreaking blend of hip-hop, jazz and R&B, continues to captivate audiences with its portrayal of ambition, power, and legacy, mirrored by this exciting new cast and promising an unforgettable theatrical experience.
