10 Greek Street launches The Unusual Suspects wine series to explore emerging trends

10 Greek Street, a discreet contemporary dining spot in Soho with meticulously selected wine offerings, has launched a quartet of wine-themed events set to explore emerging trends in the wine industry. Titled The Unusual Suspects, the series aims to spotlight the next big things in wine, with each event spanning an entire month. The inaugural chapter kicks off in June, coinciding with English Wine Week from 17-25 June, and will highlight English still wines. This initiative comes as the restaurant believes English still wines are poised to gain the recognition that their sparkling counterparts have enjoyed over the past decade.

Throughout June, patrons of 10 Greek Street can anticipate a special wine list available by the glass and bottle, complemented by pairing recommendations from the restaurant’s chefs. Featured wines include selections like New Hall Wine Estate’s Single Estate Bacchus, Essex 2022 (paired, when available, with courgette flowers fried in a light batter) and Blackbook Winery’s Painter of Light Chardonnay, London, 2021 ((paired with, amongst others, plaice) each matched with dishes that accentuate their unique characteristics.

Following the celebration of English wines, the series will continue to unfold with a focus on Portuguese table wines in July, showcasing producers such as Rocim and Casa Ferreirinha. September will pay homage to South African wines produced from old vines, highlighting labels like Blankbottle and AA Badenhorst. The final instalment in October will challenge perceptions of German wines, presenting an array of not-so-sweet options from producers like Weingut Dr. Corvers-Kauter and Weingut Frey.

Since its opening in 2012, 10 Greek Street has garnered acclaim for its fresh, seasonal cuisine and an innovative wine list curated by co-founder Luke Wilson. The list comprises a diverse range of styles, grapes, and regions, all available by the glass and carafe, along with The Black Book – a handwritten compilation of rare bottles offered at competitive prices.
