Lloyds Bank and Six by Nico serve up homebuying advice with six-course dining event for first-time buyers

Lloyds Bank is joining forces with the restaurant group Six by Nico to host a complimentary six-course dining event in London next week, aiming to inform prospective first-time homebuyers about the property purchasing process. The event, which will be held at Six by Nico’s Canary Wharf location, invites guests to experience a menu inspired by key stages of buying a home, from the initial dream through to receiving the keys.

The initiative comes as research suggests that while 65% of Generation Z regularly discuss ambitions of getting onto the property ladder during meals, 41% of that age group report having only a basic or poor understanding of the homebuying process. By combining food with practical information, Lloyds and Six by Nico hope to demystify the steps involved in purchasing a first home.

Attendees will be served what organisers describe as a “six-course culinary experience”, with each dish representing a recognisable milestone in the house purchase process. These stages include imagining an ideal home, saving for a deposit, securing mortgage approval, viewing properties, making a purchase and finally moving in. The event will also feature interactive elements and light entertainment between courses, designed to make the experience both memorable and engaging.

A spokesperson for the event said, “Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy playful moments woven between each course and little surprises that transform the first-time buyer journey into a memorable – and Instagrammable – experience.”

The collaboration marks the start of a series of similar events planned across the UK, with the London event serving as the launch. Six by Nico, known for its themed tasting menus, is providing the culinary expertise, while Lloyds is contributing guidance on the financial aspects of homeownership./.

While the event is free, places are limited and guests are required to sign up for a waiting list via the Six by Nico website.
