New film My Old Ass explores self-discovery through a unique conversation between a woman and her future self

In an imaginative new film set to be released by Amazon MGM Studios and Indian Paintbrush, My Old Ass explores the trials and tribulations of growing up through a unique narrative device – a conversation between a young woman and her future self. The story unfolds around Elliott, played by Maisy Stella, who on her 18th birthday, experiences a revelatory mushroom trip that conjures an encounter with her 39-year-old self, portrayed by Aubrey Plaza.

During this psychedelic meeting, the older Elliott doesn’t shy away from expressing her opinions about her younger self’s life choices, prompting a series of reflections on family, love and self-transformation. The film is the brainchild of writer and director Megan Park. It features performances by Percy Hynes White, Maddie Ziegler, Kerrice Brooks alongside Stella and Plaza.

The production team includes producers Tom Ackerley, Margot Robbie, Josey McNamara, and Steven Rales, with Daniel Bekerman, Bronte Payne, and Megan Park serving as executive producers.
