“I wish my mother had seen this film, she would have loved it!”: Daniel Reisinger on And Mrs

And Mrs tells the story of a young woman, Gemma (Aisling Bea), whose fiancé dies just before their anticipated wedding. Instead of cancelling the event, she decides to go on and marry him anyway. This is her own way of grieving and coming to terms with her beloved partner’s death. But what would her family and other people think? And would her reluctant bride-to-be approve of this decision? After all, he was the one who had certain objections… And Mrs is a hilarious comedy about confronting your loss and inner fears.

We spoke to the director on various topics, starting from his inspirations and the comedy genre, and finishing on a much more poignant note. Daniel Reisinger shared with us what this film really has meant to him and how it is connected to his late mother, who has just recently passed away.
