First look at Sky Original film Nuremberg, starring Russell Crowe, Rami Malek and Michael Shannon

Sky has released the first teaser trailer for Nuremberg, a gripping new historical thriller from writer-director James Vanderbilt, set to arrive in UK cinemas on 14th November 2025, ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials. The film, based on the book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai, stars Russell Crowe as Hermann Göring in what promises to be one of his most provocative roles to date.
The teaser offers a chilling glimpse of Crowe’s performance as the notorious Nazi leader, alongside Rami Malek, who plays Douglas Kelley, the American army psychiatrist tasked with assessing whether Nazi prisoners are mentally fit to stand trial for war crimes. What begins as a clinical evaluation soon spirals into a psychological chess match, as Kelley becomes entangled in Göring’s manipulative intellect and twisted charisma.
Described as a “cat-and-mouse thriller set in the shadow of history”, Nuremberg explores themes of justice, guilt and the moral reckoning that followed the collapse of the Third Reich. Michael Shannon, Richard E Grant and rising star Leo Woodall – who plays translator Howard Triest and speaks German in the role – join the impressive ensemble cast, along with John Slattery, Mark O’Brien, Colin Hanks, Lydia Peckham, Wrenn Schmidt, Lotte Verbeek and Andreas Pietschmann.
Produced by Walden Media, Bluestone Entertainment and Mythology Entertainment, the film is being positioned as a major awards contender. Sky’s Head of Original Film, Andrew Orr, called the project “bold and important,” adding: “With its stellar cast and timely subject matter, this film represents the kind of ambitious storytelling we’re committed to championing at Sky.”
Nuremberg will debut in cinemas this November before premiering on Sky Cinema in January 2026.
