Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi star in sultry new love triangle drama On Swift Horses

Sony Pictures has released the official trailer and poster for On Swift Horses, a sweeping romantic drama led by Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People) and Jacob Elordi (Saltburn, Euphoria). The film gallops (pun intended) into UK cinemas on 5th September 2025.

Directed by Daniel Minahan and written by Bryce Kass, On Swift Horses is adapted from Shannon Pufahl’s acclaimed novel and blends postwar Americana with simmering romantic tension and noirish intrigue. Set in 1950s California, the film follows newlyweds Muriel and Lee (Edgar-Jones and Will Poulter) as they begin a fresh life after his return from the Korean War. But their domestic peace is soon shattered by the arrival of Lee’s charming but volatile younger brother, Julius (Elordi) – a gambler with a shadowy past and a dangerous allure.

As Julius falls for a young card cheat and hits the road in pursuit, Muriel finds herself drawn to the thrill of the racetrack and into a secret life of her own – one that challenges her notions of love, freedom and identity.

The cast also includes Diego Calva (Babylon) and Sasha Calle (The Flash), with Minahan – best known for his work on The L Word, Deadwood and Game of Thrones – directing the feature.

On Swift Horses explores desire, repression and reinvention through the lens of a love triangle that spans bars, backroads and betting tracks. With its evocative visuals and emotionally rich performances, the film promises a sensual and heartbreaking ride.
