Jancis Robinson to lead fine wine masterclass at Berry Bros & Rudd in support of The Drinks Trust

Wine critic and Master of Wine Jancis Robinson will lead an exclusive fine wine masterclass at Berry Bros & Rudd’s historic premises in St James’s on Thursday 13th November. The event, which will run from 6 to 9pm, is being held in aid of The Drinks Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of individuals working in the drinks industry. Founded over 140 years ago, the trust provides financial assistance and emotional support, as well as vocational training and resources aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing for hospitality employees.
The evening coincides with two major milestones in Robinson’s career: the 25th anniversary of her website, JancisRobinson.com, and her 50th year writing about wine. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste eight rare and mature examples from the Berry Bros & Rudd Family Reserves, which have been donated for the occasion. Among those being poured are a 1987 Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année, a 1998 Château Cheval Blanc and a 2005 late-harvest Pinot Gris from Domaine Zind Humbrecht. The tasting will be accompanied by seasonal canapés, artisanal cheeses and charcuterie prepared by Berry Bros & Rudd’s executive chef, Stewart Turner.
Speaking about the event, Robinson said: “I’m delighted to do my bit as a patron of the very worthwhile Drinks Trust, which looks after the physical and mental health of those who work in the drinks trade, at the same time as sharing treasures from the Berry Bros & Rudd Family Reserves in celebration of my 50 years writing about wine”.
Tickets An Evening with Jancis Robinson MW are priced at £700 and are available via the Berry Bros & Rudd website. Proceeds will go towards supporting The Drinks Trust’s ongoing work in the sector.
