Brothers reunited: The Cribs announce first album in five years, Selling a Vibe

The Cribs have announced their ninth studio album Selling a Vibe, set for release on 9th January 2026 via PIAS. It marks the Wakefield trio’s first full-length in five years, and follows 2020’s Night Network.
The new record arrives after what the band describes as a period of reflection and realignment. Having spent much of their career on the road, brothers Gary, Ryan, and Ross Jarman took time after their last album to reconnect on a personal level, with the aim of returning to the studio as brothers first, bandmates second.
Produced by Patrick Wimberly (Chairlift, Solange, MGMT), the album is described as both a restoration and redirection for the band, with tracks drawing on themes of family, change, and resilience. Lead single Summer Seizures has already been released, with follow-up A Point Too Hard to Make due to premiere on BBC Radio 6 Music this week.
Speaking about the album, the band said many of the songs were rooted in their relationship with one another. “This time, I realised when I was writing the lyrics that all of the songs were really rooted in family,” said Gary Jarman.
While Selling a Vibe retains the band’s melodic sensibility and punk energy, it also experiments with new production techniques and sounds. Alongside Wimberly’s influence, the band embraced a more collaborative process than usual, handing over much of the creative control during recording sessions in Brooklyn.
The album closes with Brothers Won’t Break, a track recorded in Portland, Oregon, a moving tribute to the group’s enduring bond.
