Heck! Foods launches limited-edition chicken and sriracha sausages in collaboration with Flying Goose

Heck! Foods, the Yorkshire-based family food company, has launched a limited-edition Chicken & Sriracha sausage in partnership with Flying Goose, the makers of the original Thai Sriracha sauce. The new product is available exclusively through the Heck! website from 3rd until 31st January, with the company aiming to offer consumers a spicier, lower-fat alternative to traditional versions at the start of the new year for “a bold and zesty flavour that turns up the heat without turning up the calories”.

The company has built its reputation on producing sausages, burgers and mince with a focus on lower fat and gluten-free ingredients. The Chicken & Sriracha sausages are the latest addition to its chicken-based range, which the company says is intended to appeal to people seeking alternatives to red meat and those with dietary restrictions. The collaboration marks the first time they have incorporated Flying Goose’s sriracha into their products – a sauce brand widely recognised in the UK for its distinctive red bottle and rooster logo.

Each serving (of two) contains 100 calories, is high in protein, lower in fat compared to standard pork sausages and is gluten-free. The launch coincides with the period following Christmas, a time when many consumers seek lighter and healthier food options. The brand states that the new flavour is intended for “fitness-focused foodies, flavour adventurers and anyone looking to start the year with a healthier twist without compromising flavour.”

The limited-edition product, priced at £3.50 for a 450g pack of ten, will only be available for online purchase via the Heck! website during January. The company has not announced plans to make the flavour a permanent addition to its range.
