Lanes of London launches Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates to brighten winter

Lanes of London, the restaurant overlooking Hyde Park, has launched a new menu of Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates this January. Available for lunch, after-work gatherings and dinner, the selection aims to offer Londoners a solution to the winter blues.

The menu features colourful dishes made from seasonal ingredients that are responsibly sourced and avoid food waste. Among the highlights are Roasted Delica Pumpkin accompanied by carrots, whipped moutabal, toasted pistachio and truffle honey, and Steamed Hake with Spanish chorizo, chickpea ragout and dill aioli. Other options include Mediterranean Spiced Chicken with crumbled feta and olive salad, and Braised Octopus and Scallops paired with celeriac mash, Ratte potatoes and herb-marinated olives. For dessert there’s a Winter Red Apple Cheesecake – described as “almost too pretty to eat” – that contains caramelised pineapple and a spiced apple filling on a sablé Breton base.

According to the restaurant, the new menu is intended to “bring sunshine to the table” during the darker winter months. The focus on Mediterranean flavours and sharing plates reflects a broader trend in London’s dining scene, where communal dining and seasonal ingredients have gained popularity.

Lanes of London is situated within the Marriott Park Lane hotel in a scenic location that attracts both local residents and visitors seeking a respite from the winter weather. They explain their current approach is designed to “celebrate great food, good company – and the promise of warmer days on the horizon”.
