Lisbon’s Eduardo VII Park to host gourmet picnic with top restaurants and live music this May

A gourmet picnic is coming to Eduardo VII Park in Lisbon this May, organised by Lohad in collaboration with the Avenida da Liberdade Association. Called Um Domingo na Avenida, the special occasion will offer visitors and locals the chance to dine al fresco against the backdrop of one of the city’s most iconic boulevards.

The park sits at the northern end of Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon’s main ceremonial street, which was modelled on the great European boulevards of the 19^th century. It is home to a number of high-end hotels, restaurants and flagship retail outlets, and serves as one of the city’s principal public spaces. Um Domingo na Avenida (A Sunday on the Avenue), will run from 12pm to 7pm on 2^nd May and brings together ten restaurants from the iconic location. Each of them has created an exclusive dish to join a tasting route across the park. Spanning a range of dining styles, the kitchens on call include Addiction, Cervejaria Liberdade, Cura, Davvero, Eleven, Four Seasons Ritz, Praia no Parque, Rossio Gastrobar, Rubro and Selllva.

To accompany the food, two outdoor concerts are scheduled to take place during the afternoon. The Orquestra Académica Metropolitana will perform at 3pm, followed by a set from Portuguese musician David Fonseca at 5pm.

Tickets to Um Domingo na Avenida are available in two formats. The Picnic Experience is priced from €150 for two people and includes tastings of all ten dishes, a bottle of wine (red, white or rosé) and access to both concerts. The Premium Experience, priced at €300, includes the full dining programme, a bottle of wine and an exclusive picnic basket to take home. Children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
