Eduardo VII Park becomes an open-air dining destination this May, with ten of the city’s finest restaurants and a soundtrack to match.

On 3rd May, Lisbon transforms one of its most beloved green spaces into something altogether more indulgent. Um Domingo na Avenida – A Sunday on the Avenue – is a sophisticated outdoor dining experience set in Eduardo VII Park, with the full sweep of Avenida da Liberdade stretching out below.

Organised by event company Lohad in partnership with the Avenida da Liberdade Association, the concept is deceptively simple: a curated tasting route across the park, with ten of the avenue’s most iconic restaurants each presenting a dish created exclusively for the occasion. Addiction, Cervejaria Liberdade, Cura, Davvero, Eleven, Four Seasons Ritz, Praia no Parque, Rossio Gastrobar, Rubro and Selllva are all on the roster – a lineup that ranges from neighbourhood institution to hotel dining room, united by the kind of cooking that makes Lisbon worth the flight.

The afternoon unfolds at a deliberately unhurried pace. At 3pm, the Orquestra Académica Metropolitana takes the outdoor stage; David Fonseca follows at 5pm, bringing a more contemporary edge to close the day.

Tickets are available in two tiers. The Picnic Experience, from €150 for two, covers tastings of all ten dishes, a bottle of wine and access to both concerts. The Premium Experience (€300) adds an exclusive picnic basket – the kind you’ll actually want to keep. Children under 12 enter free. Capacity is limited, and it’s the sort of event that won’t wait.
