Camden Fringe 2026: Wrap Party at Lion & Unicorn Theatre

While showbiz stories usually focus on the glitz under the spotlight, Harry Petty’s Wrap Party turns its attention to the people keeping the set fed – the film caterers. Bringing their fast-paced two-hander to the Camden Fringe, performers Harry Warren and Ollie Hart give audiences a funny, frantic glimpse into life behind the scenes, serving up sausage rolls, showbiz ambition, and a surprisingly tender look at friendship under pressure.

What really makes the play work is its two lead actors, who bounce off each other brilliantly despite their very different styles. Hart brings a bubbly, mischievous charm to his roles, bouncing across the stage with a physical comedy that peaks in a chaotic, impressive sequence where he juggles five characters back-to-back. Warren is the more grounded of the two, playing the cynic to Hart’s optimist. His delivery controls the performance with believable depth, making his character’s eventual emotional breakdown hit all the harder.

That rapid back-and-forth dynamic carries into the storytelling itself, though the play’s sheer ambition means there’s a lot packed into its short runtime. Alongside the central catering storyline, Warren and Hart race through a string of eccentric side characters – from pushy safety inspectors to thinly veiled Hollywood action stars. The jokes land reliably, though the swift multi-character transitions mean the overarching plot can be a little tricky to keep up with at times, momentarily diverting from the tender friendship linking everything together.

For all its chaos, Wrap Party is a genuinely fun show with plenty of heart. Warren and Hart make a brilliant double act, and their chemistry gives the production an infectious energy from start to finish. It’s a playful, affectionate look at the people working behind the scenes, reminding audiences that, sometimes, the real drama happens off-camera.
