Danielle Foster unveils new accessories line for spring/summer 2014

Danielle Foster’s latest accessories line is a chic mix of structured monochrome pieces with pops of tan shades and metallic detailing.

Leicestershire born Danielle Foster moved to London when she was 18 so she could study art and design at the London College of Fashion. She later studied accessory design and, after graduating in 2010, was picked by French fashion designer Charlie Le Mindu (a favourite of Lady Gaga) to work on his spring/summer 2011 collection. Foster also works as a freelance creator and designs bespoke pieces that are made to order.

Her new line, which will be available come January, is a little different to what we are used to seeing from this British designer.

DanielleFAlthough the structured Danielle Foster style is still there, this latest collection seems a little softer and a tad simpler than the previous. Shapes remain boxy and have the same Foster edge, but there is less detailing in the zips, fastenings and poppers, and more focus has been put onto the colours, materials and exquisite designs. For example, Foster has created a cute and convenient yet chic and stylish rucksack that is designed much like a satchel.

Only a few of the bags have stand-out details such as visible poppers on the clutch or buckles on a tote, as this time round Foster has chosen to keep the fastenings hidden, so emphasis remains on the brilliant silhouettes and the delightful colour scheme. Both of the clutches from the spring/summer range having lashings of colour, one being silver and black, and the other tan and white; they also feature a horseshoe gusset to offer more space in the usually restricted clutch design.

As always, Foster’s accessories are made in the UK – everything from the sourced material of the satchel to the embossing on the silver clutch.
