Malene Oddershede Bach’s latest collection is beautiful, bold and busy
The 10th April saw the unveiling of Malene Oddershede Bach’s A/W 2014 collection. Taking place at the Spring London press day, the latest array of fashion pieces offered a show-stopping range of bold colour, ditsy patterns and some wonderful shapes.
The Danish-born designer is currently based in London and not only has a ready-to-wear line but since 2013 also has an accessories and handbag range. Mentioned regularly in fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Vogue, Grazia and ELLE, Malene Oddershede Bach has gradually become one of the most respected and sought-after fashion brands around, and her latest fashion launch only cements this theory further.
The autumn/winter 2014 line is a delightful mix that features a bold yet pretty print taking centre stage with the colours from the pattern palette being used as clothing staples throughout the collection.
The colours are brilliant jewel tones such as ruby red, emerald green, yellow gold and sapphire blue with simple black pieces used to break up the many vibrant shades.
The garments are all rather glamorous but still wearable for day-to-day life, by using the busy pattern on simple shapes and the block colours on more intricate designs and intriguing fabrics. Malene Oddershede Bach has managed to bring an element of normality to the collection without sacrificing her chic, stylish appeal she is loved for.
A structured silk dress with pocket detailing, pleats and a scaly-like texture is created with just one colour in mind: a rich metallic red, offering a simple yet effective piece. In contrast, a two-piece set consisting of trousers and round-neck, long-sleeved top is made up of the beautifully busy print with a yellow base. By keeping the structure of the clothing articles simple and letting the motif take centre stage an equally enticing yet classic look is created.
