Dior Beauty’s tie-dye collection

Dior Beauty’s tie-dye collection

Launched earlier this month, Dior Beauty took an unexpected twist with a limited edition tie-dye inspired collection. The summery shades range from jade and golden brown to lagoon-blue and amber.

The set includes two different shades of Diorskin Tan Blush powder – which also looks divine swept across the eyelids – with the palette resembling tie-dye fabric. Dior’s infamous Addict lipstick has been added to the collection in four new shades, as well as three Dior Addict Fluid Stick gloss colours and two new Diorshow kohl pencils in turquoise and silver shades. Naturally there are three new nail lacquer shades and a top coat, all in beachy pink tones, to accompany the collection. Lastly a five piece eye-shadow palette in two different colour ways, Amber Nuit and Contraste Horizon, brings a subdued but gorgeous touch to the tie-dye inspired beauty products.

A tie-dye collection was the last thing we expected Dior Beauty to launch since they tend to stick with the classic glamour look that coincides with Christian Dior’s traditional feminine aura. It is clear that Raf Simons’ direction for the house is evolving steadily towards a much more diverse and fresh style for the Dior girl, and this includes Dior Beauty. Looking at his spring/summer 2015 couture collection, the juxtaposition of traditional and futuristic tailoring and colours shows this new direction exactly; Simons is keeping the original Dior girl in mind yet executing the evolution of Dior impeccably.
