The A/W 2015 accessories guide

The A/W 2015 accessories guide

Felt hat

The classic fedora hat is a regular winter staple; this year you will find it in every colour: black, brown, grey, navy, white, camel or deep red are your best bet for cool-girl style. Some ultra hip variations are two-tone, with one shade for the hat and another contrasting shade for the rim. This accessory can be worn with any outfit from pre-fall until spring and adds instant luxury.

Skin boots

The shoe of the season, these glossy rubber babes are both fierce and elegant. Whether you opt for uber shiny red like Dior, electric blue suede as done by Ermanno Scervino, or a slick burgundy snake print you will certainly be at the centre stage in these daring, elongating boots. Wear with a miniskirt for a feminine take or poking out of frayed denim hems.

Itty-bity bags and monster-huge bags

Whichever tribe you join just make sure your small bag is tiny or your big bag is enormous. Christopher Kane and Phillip Lim sent models down the runway with tiny bags that could have been mistaken for coin purses with straps, but models at Acne and HM Studio hauled large shopper-sized ones under their arms. Again red is the stylish choice, in both shiny patent and matte leather.

Necktie

The 70s style skinny necktie is making a huge comeback for autumn/winter 2015. Either worn as a separate accessory, like models on the Chloe and Bottega Veneta runways, or as part of a pretty pussybow blouse, as seen at Gucci and Jeremy Scott. This trend is one of the simplest and most affordable to recreate.
Mary Janes

Mary Janes are more of a micro-trend available to those afraid to tackle the promiscuous second-skin boots. The quaint, feminine heeled shoe has had a major makeover with a chunkier heel and shades of cranberry, metallic silver and metallic lime green.
