Marc Jacobs’ latest fragrance – the tropical Dot
Fans of the multi-talented Marc Jacobs will be delighted that details of his latest fragrance have been unveiled – the designer is set to debut his new perfume, Dot, in July.
19-year-old model Codie Young is the face of the fragrance, and was photographed by Juergen Teller for the campaign.
As well as designing for multiple fashion houses and a recent announcement that Marc Jacobs is set to launch a make-up line, the flamboyant designer has enjoyed immense success with his previous women’s fragrances, which he refers to as his “girls”. Daisy was launched in 2007 and Lola followed in 2009. It’s time for a new lady in Mr Jacobs’ life: summer 2012 will be all about Dot.
Marc Jacobs on his newest fragrance: “We keep calling them sisters. Lola is Daisy’s sister, and now Dot is their sister.”
The cute ladybird-inspired bottle is adorned with dots and butterflies; it’s supposed to evoke visualisations of “a ladybug with butterflies alighting on it.”
So what will it smell like? If you’re a fan of Lola and Daisy, you’ll know Marc Jacobs fragrances are beautifully sweet and fresh, so Dot’s summer release is definitely appropriate. However, unlike its sister scents, there is definitely a tropical element as Dot contains top notes of red berries, dragon fruit and honeysuckle, a heart of jasmine, coconut water and orange blossom and a drydown of vanilla, driftwood and musk.
Dot will launch in the US and UK in July and internationally in August.
