Kojawan: Sky-high dining from the Far East opens this March

Opening this spring and named after the countries on the far side of Asia (Korea, Japan and Taiwan), Kojawan brings the soul food of each nation’s capital to the 23rd floor of London’s Hilton Metropole, in west London, minutes from Marble Arch. Offering unrivalled views of the metropolis, this seductively cool 21st century izakaya brings together innovative dishes from Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei.

The playful menu has been created by acclaimed chefs Bjorn Van Der Horst (of Greenhouse, La Noisette, Eastside Inn) and Omar Romero (of Rhodes Twenty Four, Rosewood). Expect compositions such as Rice Sandwiches, Glazed Lobster-dog and Sesame Seaweed Ponzu, Popcorn Prawns and Liquorice Fish Sauce, and Crab Turnip “Egg Cake” in a Crispy Shiso Leaf Bun. Innovative sweets include Kojawan’s own version of Eton mess with lychee green tea meringue and sake cream. A dynamic drink program features the first Kirin beer and raw bar in Europe, including the signature K-Slurpy, a cold beer with a frozen top. All are served by a knowledgeable service crew, dispatching creative drinks from bespoke airline trollies orbiting tables.

Inside Kojawan, a comfortable hi-tech future reigns. Modish furnishings, sci-fi materials, manga graphics, bespoke videos, and multiple art installations give the space a zany retro-futuristic vibe – a look that’s quite unique in London.

From clay barrel-aged cocktails to an affordable wine list (with a broad range from sake to champagne), the sky-high bar blends the best of all possible worlds from east to west.
