Picturehouse Central tonight was the proud host to the London premiere of War Dogs, the much anticipated crime war comedy from director Todd Phillips that sees Jonah Hill and Miles Teller unite on screen.

Based on an improbable true story, Hill and Teller play two friends who, in their twenties, manage to secure a 300-million-dollar arms deal with the Pentagon. So follows the expected exploits and consequences that occur when two people treat life like a series of deals to be won.

Jonah Hill stopped to talk about his involvement in the film; reading the article War Dogs is based upon did spike his interest however it was solidified heavily by Todd’s dedication to get him on board following his (then) recent performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, which peddled a similar theme to War Dogs: the corruption of the American Dream.

Director Todd Phillips spoke about his lifelong interest in documenting chaos, his respect for Jonah Hill and his style of acting, and the importance of setting the tone of a movie on the set, coyly adding: “So mine was appropriately chaotic.”
