Honest Greens brings affordable, health-focused dining to Soho with first UK restaurant opening

Spanish restaurant brand Honest Greens opened a new location in Soho today. The eatery, known as Hg for its British iteration, will offer affordable, health-focused meals in a casual environment. Its launch marks the brand’s first foray into the UK market, following its establishment in Spain and Portugal in 2017 by founders Christopher Fuchs, Rasmus Bjerngaard and Benjamin Bensoussan.

The team explains all food is prepared fresh daily using minimally processed ingredients without additives or refined sugars, resulting in a menu that caters to a range of dietary preferences, including vegetarian, plant-based, gluten-free and keto. The London venue’s selection will showcase several signature dishes, which have proven popular in its Iberian outlets. These are comprised of charcoal-grilled options such as Piri Piri Chicken, Lemon Mustard Chicken and Miso Salmon, served incorporated into Market Plates and Garden Bowls with Mediterranean-inspired sides and sauces. All main dishes are priced under £11. Among the plant-forward offerings are bowls priced at £9.95, including the Latin Lover – a combination of brown rice, beans, kale, cabbage, avocado and cucumber with sour cream and roasted jalapeño – and the Pistachio Caesar Crunch, which features broccoli rice, caramelised red onion, pistachio dukkah and a parmesan crisp. There are also seasonal sides on offer, such as a Brussels sprouts dish with cranberries, caramelised walnuts, lemon tahini and walnut pesto.

Hg Soho will be open throughout the day, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. For early birds, there are artisanal sourdough toasts using Dusty Knuckle bread and dishes like Loaded Spanish Tomato Bread and Protein-Power Overnight Oats. A dedicated counter, Beans, will serve Ozone coffee alongside a range of hot and iced drinks. Customers can also choose from a selection of gluten-free, plant-based and refined sugar-free desserts, among them a Miso Koji Apple Pie and a Crispy Orange Caramel Cacao Bar.

The interior of the restaurant has been designed by in-house team Honest Lab, and incorporates natural materials with a Scandinavian aesthetic. An open kitchen allows diners to observe food preparation, while communal tables aim to encourage a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere. The venue also features curated music playlists for an ideal vibe as the day goes on.

Hg’s new venue operates on a walk-in basis only, supported by a mobile app that enables customers to order ahead, save favourites and receive real-time updates, for a thoroughly modern experience.
