Five London restaurants to visit this Easter

Five London restaurants to visit this Easter

Whether you’re looking for something traditional or something a bit different this year, here are our top five restaurants for the Easter festivities.berners tavern

Berners Tavern

Destination dining has picked up something of a bad name in recent years, with many people associating the idea with average food in pretty settings. Not so in Berners Tavern, which combines an absolutely stunning dining room with food that will put a smile on any face. Expect a traditional Easter roast that will blow any home-cooked meal away, and enjoy it in sumptuous surroundings that can make any meal memorable.

To book a table at The Berners Tavern, 10 Berners St Fitzrovia, London W1T 3NP, call 020 7908 7979 or visit here.

galvin la chapelle restaurant

Galvin La Chapelle

Known for its excellent food and fine-dining siblings, Galvin La Chapelle is a great bet for anyone who wants something solid, dependable and ultimately delicious. They won’t be pushing the boat out, but they’re sure to deliver a perfect roast with all the trimmings. And best of all, when you’re stuffed and wishing the little ones were out of your hair so you can enjoy the cheese trolley in peace, you can send the kids off on the restaurant’s Easter egg hunt.

To book a table at Galvin La Chapelle, 35 Spital Square London E1 6DY, call 020 7299 0400 or visit here

veneta restaurant

Veneta

A Venetian-inspired offering from the wildly successful Salt Yard group, this restaurant will be ideal for anyone looking to escape the hoards of normal Easter eaters and instead enjoy a slightly less stereotypical meal (not a mint-crusted leg of lamb in sight). The Sunday feast this Easter at Veneta includes delights like Kid Goat Ragu, and Saffron Ice Cream with Rhubarb and Blood Orange. And for the adults, there’s bottomless prosecco, so you can either toast to being free of children or drink until you forget you have them – although the restaurant will not be held responsible for any children left under its tables, so a certain ex-prime minister might want to give this one a miss.

To book a table at Veneta, 3 Norris Street St James’s Market, London SW1Y 4RJ, call 020 3874 9100 or visit here
TheGate

The Gate

Normally any restaurant that describes its Easter meal as “eggcellent” would be off the list out of principle, but exceptions have to be made for The Gate. One of the capital’s best vegetarian offerings, its consistently proven that an absence of meat doesn’t need to mean an absence of style, taste or refinement, offering up some beautiful dishes that place vegetables at the forefront. Keep a special eye out for the chocolate yoyo, a deconstructed Easter egg, inverted and filled with delicious chocolate and caramel mousse.

To book a table at The Gate, 51 Queen Caroline St, London W6 9QL, call 020 8748 6932 or visit here.

benares london

Benares

Indian food might not be what jumps to mind when you think of Easter, but the superlative Benares might well change all that. Enjoy a traditional leg of lamb, roasted to perfection in an incredible mixture of spices for a mix of tradition and novelty. The same idea comes up again in a sumptuous dark chocolate and praline-filled golden egg, served with passion fruit coulis and yogurt ice cream.

To book a table at Benares, 12a Berkeley Square Mayfair London W1J 6BS, call 020 7629 8886 or visit here.
