Wes Anderson’s new movie has finally made it to the big screen, and expectations are high for this “love letter to journalists” (as h described it). The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun revolves around the last edition of the eponymous fictional newspaper. There’s plenty of comedy and drama, with the narrative structured to follow the different sections of the publication: art, crime, food and so on. Crafted with Anderson’s usual carefully curated cinematography, the movie also boasts a stellar roster of actors, beginning with Bill Murray (as the editor-in-chief), and continuing with Timothée Chalamet, Tilda Swinton, Jeffrey Wright, Owen Wilson, Christoph Waltz, and appearances from Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe and Saoirse Ronan. Benicio del Toro is even “doubled” here, interacting with Tony Revolori as his past self in the role of Moses Rosenthaler.

The film received its London premiere at the Royal Festival Hall during the London Film Festival. On the red carpet, The Upcoming met some of the cast members, who told us about the vibrant and friendly atmosphere on-set and the experience of working with the visionary director.

Talking about his peculiar role in The French Dispatch, Steve Park found support in his wife Kelly Coffield Park to further the depiction of his culinary skills in real life.

Since his turn in The Grand Budapest Hotel as lobby boy, Tony Revolori has made his way upwards in the industry, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He returns here at Anderson’s side, and the adventure is as satisfying as it was the first time. He shared a particular highlight of the production.
