“There’s a whole new exciting world to come join”: Joey Batey and Mirren Mack on The Witcher: Blood Origin

The Witcher: Blood Origin is a four-part series aiming to give the franchise a captivating backstory set over 1,200 years earlier. Threads of history weave around the Golden Age of Elves, when their civilisation roams fearlessly through a magical land before seven outcast elves join forces against the imminent threat of a powerful empire that then threatens their existence.

An ensemble cast bring to the screen their different abilities and magic, traversing ever-changing terrain in their quest and providing some truly epic fight scenes. Viewers will see the first prototype Witcher and the moment it all changed in the Elven Kingdom through the mysterious Conjuncture of the Spheres.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Joey Batey about reprising his role as Jaskier, what he brought to the new show in terms of rounding out the entire franchise and how he feels about the departure of Henry Cavill as the character of The Witcher moves forward.

We spoke to Mirren Mack about her role in the series, working with such an ensemble cast and how it feels to be part of The Witcher journey.
