Stray Kids to make UK festival debut at BST Hyde Park as exclusive headliners

South Korean megastars Stray Kids are set to headline the Great Oak Stage at London’s BST Hyde Park for a UK-exclusive performance on Sunday 14th July 2024. Their appearance at one of the UK’s most iconic music events marks the group’s highly anticipated UK festival debut. Fans of the K-pop sensation will have the opportunity to purchase tickets starting Monday 12th February at 10am GMT through the festival’s official website.

Stray Kids, formed by JYP Entertainment through a reality show in 2017, have rapidly ascended to global fame with their eclectic mix of music that combines electronic dance, rap and R&B-inspired vocals. The group comprises eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and IN. They first made a splash with their debut EP Mixtape in 2018, which topped the Korean charts and paved the way for international success.

Their rise to stardom has included a string of number-one albums in South Korea, chart-topping positions on the Billboard 200 and accolades such as an MTV Video Music Award for Best K-Pop and a Billboard Music Award for Top K-Pop Album for their latest release, 5-Star. Stray Kids have also teased the launch of two new albums in 2024, alongside plans for an extensive world tour.

Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, expressed excitement over bringing Stray Kids to the BST Hyde Park stage, acknowledging the growing popularity of the K-pop genre. Stray Kids will be joining other previously announced headliners such as Andrea Bocelli and Robbie Williams, with further acts to be confirmed.

BST Hyde Park has established itself as a premier London event since its inception in 2013, featuring legendary performances by artists like The Rolling Stones, Adele and Taylor Swift. The festival is known not only for its star-studded lineups but also for its midweek Open House programme, offering free access to a variety of activities and entertainment. The event is a significant source of revenue for The Royal Parks, contributing to the maintenance and development of London’s cherished green spaces.
