Speak No Evil set to premiere in UK cinemas this September, starring James McAvoy

The psychological thriller Speak No Evil is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on 12th September 2024. Directed by James Watkins and featuring a cast that includes James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy, the film explores the chilling aftermath of a seemingly idyllic weekend getaway offered by a British family to their American friends they met on vacation.
The plot thickens as the holiday, hosted by the charismatic Paddy (played by McAvoy) and his family at their country estate, devolves into a terrifying psychological ordeal. The film, produced by Jason Blum and Paul Ritchie, promises to deliver an intense suspense experience, drawing viewers into a narrative where hospitality masks a dark, underlying menace.
Speak No Evil also features performances from Aisling Franciosi, Alix West Lefler and newcomer Dan Hough. The screenplay adapts the 2022 Danish horror hit Gæsterne by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup, which garnered significant acclaim including 11 nominations at the Danish Film Awards.
The film is the latest offering from Blumhouse, known for producing significant horror films such as The Black Phone, Get Out, and The Invisible Man. This new project continues their tradition of blending psychological depth with suspenseful storytelling.
