September 5: On the red carpet with Peter Sarsgaard, Ben Chaplin, John Magaro, Tim Felhbaum, Moritz Binder and Leonie Benesch at the London premiere

September 5 retells the tragic story of the Munich Massacre, a terrorist attack during the 1972 Summer Olympics, through the lenses of American journalists. We follow a group of people who gave the world one of the most legendary live television broadcasts, watched by an audience of 900 million. When people’s lives were at stake, everybody took a deep breath; we were able to watch, but unable to help at any point.

During the UK premiere, Peter Sarsgaard answered the question of whether sport is political and gave some details regarding his performance in September 5.

Ben Chaplin pondered on the idea of how similar acting might be to being a journalist.

John Magaro spoke about the historical nuance and how the actors worked on the chemistry on set.

Tim Felhbaum, the film’s director, explained how he tried to understand the topic and make himself comfortable about being able to depict the work of a newsroom.

Moritz Binder talked about the Oscar nomination and explained how he proceeded with the research for the script.

Leonie Benesch elaborated on her character from September 5.
