Måneskin frontman Damiano David to release debut solo album Funny Little Fears in May

Italian singer-songwriter Damiano David, best known as the frontman of Eurovision-winning rock band Måneskin, will release his debut solo album, Funny Little Fears, on 16th May 2025. The project marks David’s first full-length release since announcing his solo career in 2024, and comes as he prepares for an extensive world tour spanning Europe, Australia, North America, South America and Asia.

David, who was born in Rome in 1999, rose to international prominence as the lead vocalist of Måneskin. The band achieved a significant milestone as the first Italian group in decades to break into the global mainstream, propelled by their Eurovision Song Contest victory and subsequent chart successes. David’s dynamic stage presence and vocal prowess have been widely recognised, earning him a substantial following and critical acclaim.

The forthcoming album, Funny Little Fears, is described as a departure from David’s previous work with the band, both in terms of sound and lyrical content, and will “break the moulds of expectation, both sonically and lyrically […] defying genre boundaries” while exploring personal themes. The record will include previously released singles such as Born With a Broken Heart, Silverlines (a collaboration with British artist Labrinth), and Next Summer. Additionally, David’s cover of Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus’s Nothing Breaks Like a Heart, released as part of Spotify’s Valentine’s Day Singles series, is expected to feature in his solo repertoire.

To date, David’s solo releases have accumulated over 170 million global streams. Funny Little Fears will be available on major streaming platforms and in physical formats from 16 May 2025. Reviews of the album are embargoed until the release date.
