Japanese-language production of SIX the Musical to make UK debut next week in the West End

For the first time in the UK, a Japanese-language production of the hit musical SIX will be staged at the Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End. Running for one week only from Tuesday 4th to Sunday 9th November 2025, the limited engagement will feature members of the original Japanese cast performing the show in Japanese, with English captions provided for audiences. The production follows sold-out runs in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya earlier this year and tickets are now available via the show’s official website.

The event marks the first occasion the musical will be performed in a foreign language in the UK. The Japanese cast, all making their West End debuts, will reprise their roles in the Tudor-inspired pop musical that reimagines the six wives of Henry VIII as modern-day pop stars. The production is presented by original producers Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes and George Stiles, in collaboration with Umeda Arts Theater, the producers of the Japanese version.

The cast includes Sonim as Catherine of Aragon; Meimi Tamura and Maho Minamoto alternating as Anne Boleyn; Harumi as Jane Seymour; Eliana and Marie Sugaya alternating as Anna of Cleves; Airi Suzuki and Erika Toyohara alternating as Katherine Howard; and Sora Kazuki and Ruki Saito alternating as Catherine Parr. Aoi Tanaka will serve as Musical Director. Emiko Suzuki and Mahya Harada, who performed in the Japanese production, will not appear due to scheduling conflicts.

Producer Kenny Wax commented: “It’s incredible to see how SIX has resonated with audiences around the world, and we are thrilled to welcome our wonderful Japanese cast members to London so they can reprise the roles they played so brilliantly in Japan. We, and the incredible current London cast, look forward to audiences experiencing the Queens in a whole new way.”

In addition to the performances, two cultural workshops will be held to coincide with the production. On Thursday 6th November, from 5.15 to 6.45pm, Dear Asia will host a Japanese Language Workshop, offering participants aged 10 and over the chance to learn lyrics from the show in Japanese and engage in traditional arts and crafts. On Saturday 8th November, from 12 to 1.30pm, manga artist Chie Kutsuwada will lead a beginner-friendly Manga Workshop, guiding attendees through the basics of manga drawing and helping them create SIX-inspired illustrations.

The Umeda Arts Theater team said: “We are honoured that London is hosting the Japanese language production of SIX. The incredible response in Japan showed us how powerfully audiences connect with these Queens, and we are pleased to bring that energy to the West End. The addition of the masterclasses makes this visit even more special – it’s not only about seeing the show in Japanese for the first time in the UK, but also about sharing our language and culture with audiences in a truly interactive way.”
