Clink Charity launches nationwide catering service to support prisoner rehabilitation and youth at risk

The Clink Charity has announced the launch of Catered by Clink, a new nationwide catering and bakery service based in London, which aims to support the rehabilitation and training of people in prison and young people at risk of offending.

The service is designed to provide high-quality food for businesses and individuals across the UK, while offering participants accredited training and pathways into employment.

Catered by Clink delivers a range of products including canapés, pastries, celebration cakes, and office lunches. All items are prepared by students and graduates of The Clink Charity’s hospitality and bakery programmes, which operate both inside prisons and in community settings. Trainees work towards City & Guilds qualifications in professional cookery and baking, gaining practical experience intended to reduce re-offending rates upon release.

The catering menu includes breakfast, lunch, and canapé boxes, with options such as ready-to-serve pastry platters, finger sandwiches, and savoury selections suitable for meetings, events, and office gatherings. Delivery is currently available across London and the Home Counties, with a particular focus on corporate and professional environments.

One of the offerings, the High Down Collection, is priced at £265 and serves 10–12 people. The collection is named after The Clink Charity’s first restaurant at HMP High Down, which began its mission to reduce re-offending in 2010. The platter features a variety of sandwiches, such as Roast Ham with Mustard Slaw, Salmon and Cream Cheese, and vegetarian options, alongside items like Roast Tomato and Mozzarella Tart and Teriyaki Salmon Bites. Desserts include classic cakes such as Sticky Toffee, Date Teacake and Victoria sandwich.

The service also features a Bakery Collection, showcasing hand-crafted cakes, cookies, buns, loaves, and traybakes produced at The Clink Bakery at HMP Brixton. While bakery items are currently available for collection only, there are plans to expand delivery by spring 2026. Popular items include Red Velvet Cakes (£45–£55), Malted Banana Loaf Cake (£15), and Brixton Brownie Boxes, with some products available for nationwide postal delivery.

Looking ahead, Catered by Clink plans to introduce seasonal gift products for occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Christmas.

The Clink Charity, founded in 2009, operates training restaurants and bakeries within UK prisons, as well as community-based initiatives for young people at risk of entering the justice system. In 2024, the charity trained over 800 people in prison and delivered 650 NVQ qualifications. Its mission is to reduce reoffending through education, training, and intensive support for people in and leaving prison. Every purchase helps sustain these programmes, creating more opportunities for people to gain qualifications, rebuild confidence and secure employment on release.
