Alejandro Serrano launches chef collaboration series to spotlight young talent with Venezuelan chef Iván García for the opening
Spanish chef Alejandro Serrano has announced the launch of a new series of collaborative events at his Michelin-starred restaurant, Alejandro Serrano, located in Miranda de Ebro, Spain. The initiative, beginning with a partnership featuring Venezuelan chef Iván García on 7th and 8th March, is designed to highlight and support emerging experts from both Spain and abroad, fostering dialogue and creative exchange in the culinary community and making fine dining more accessible to younger audiences.
Serrano, who became Spain’s youngest chef to earn a Michelin star at age 24, has stated that his own early career experiences have shaped the direction of the project. The series will see up-and-coming culinary stars invited into his kitchen to co-create tasting menus, providing a platform for the exchange of techniques, ideas and culinary identities. Each event will centre on a menu developed collaboratively by Serrano and his guest, reflecting their shared vision and diverse backgrounds.
The initiative is intended as a long-term project, and has a secondary goal to address a broader ambition: attracting a younger demographic to the world of haute cuisine. Serrano has previously advocated for making Michelin-starred dining more approachable and relevant to new generations, saying that “the future of fine dining belongs to a new generation – both in the kitchen and at the table”.
The first guest, Iván García, has been recognised for his work at El Bosque Bistró in Caracas, Venezuela, where he focuses on local produce and reinterprets traditional flavours. García has been awarded one knife by The Best Chef Awards – a distinction that acknowledges his culinary excellence and technical skill. His collaboration with Serrano will take place over two services: dinner on 7th March and lunch on the 8th.
The series is positioned as a platform for emerging names to gain visibility and momentum in the competitive culinary landscape, while also encouraging a more inclusive and evolving approach to fine dining. Further collaborations with young chefs from various backgrounds are expected to follow as part of this ongoing project.
