Honeyshade rooftop restaurant to open in Bayswater with British-Levantine menu
Honeyshade, an all-day restaurant and bar occupying the rooftop of the Central Park Hotel on Queensborough Terrace in Bayswater, west London, will open in mid-September 2026, bringing a British brasserie menu with Levantine influences to a neighbourhood undergoing substantial redevelopment.
Located a short distance from Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, the rooftop has been laid out as a garden pavilion, with natural light, extensive planting and a material palette intended to reduce the distinction between the indoor dining room and the outdoor terrace. Interiors reference Georgian and Victorian architecture as well as the planting of nearby Hyde Park. In addition to the main dining room, the venue includes a private dining room intended for corporate dinners, celebrations and private events.
The menu is structured around distinct dayparts. Mornings will centre on speciality coffee and a breakfast menu, with lunch built around handmade pasta, salads and charcoal-grilled dishes. Evening service shifts to sharing plates, wine and a cocktail list. A stone oven will produce manakeesh and oven-baked flatbreads, while a live grill will be used for steaks, seafood and slow-cooked dishes over open flame. Seasonal produce and sharing-format dishes feature across the offer.
Paul Sarlas, founder of Honeyshade, said: “With Honeyshade, I wanted to create the kind of restaurant I have always believed in: somewhere with its own identity, great food and genuine hospitality, but without unnecessary formality. A place that feels just as natural for breakfast or a relaxed lunch as it does for cocktails, dinner or an evening with friends. The food has the familiarity and generosity of a British brasserie, with Levantine influences bringing vibrancy, flavour and character. Most importantly, I want Honeyshade to become part of the neighbourhood, somewhere people genuinely enjoy spending time and want to return to.”
The venue arrives as Bayswater continues a repositioning that has been driven in large part by the redevelopment of the former Whiteleys department store, along with sustained investment in residential, hospitality and public-realm schemes. The area has historically functioned as a transit point for visitors travelling into central London. The opening adds to a series of new sites and investment activity in Bayswater as the district’s markets develop.
